The Port of Santander, together with the Government of Cantabria, the City of Santander and another ten institutions of an economic, educational and knowledge nature, has signed a pact for Santander's innovation to accelerate the impulse in R & D & I in the Cantabrian capital that consolidates Santander as an innovative and entrepreneurial city, and as a smart city. For this, it relies on four fundamental objectives: to enhance and retain talent, generating opportunities for innovation; Promote the development of business and institutional innovation, increase Santander's position on the international map of research and innovation, and enhance its presence in those economic and social areas that make Santander an intelligent city.
The signatory institutions of this pact promoted by the City of Santander are, in addition to the regional government and the port, the University of Cantabria, the Menéndez Pelayo International University, the Chamber of Commerce, CEOE, the Cantabrian Association of the Family Business, the Association of young entrepreneurs of Cantabria, the Association of Autonomous Workers, the Association of Women Entrepreneurs and the Union of Autonomous Workers of Cantabria.
