On Sunday, April 7, the exhibition “To eat you better. EDIBLE EATERS ”that, by the hand of the artist Rosalía Banet, proposes a reflection on what we eat, how, why and for what we do. The diseases associated with obesity are many, and the exposure aims to invite awareness about the importance of nutrition. According to the author, the title ‘edible Eaters’ in English, ‘edible dining rooms’ in Spanish, wants to represent the idea that “we devour ourselves”.
Rosalía Banet, through a naif aesthetic with its siameas sweets takes us to a cannibal world where the characters eat viscera, they become tortillas of power, beat fame, they take tablespoons of social conscience, or prepare recipes of success, beauty and youth.
In the artist's proposal there are no conventional foods: fear, loneliness, pain, feelings, love, ... are converted into food. A banquet invites us to reflect on the influence of the media on what we eat and what we can become after the intake of certain foods.
