Rosalía Banet presents the exhibition “To eat you better. EDIBLE EATERS ”in El Palacete del Embarcadero-Press NOTE (03/08/2013)
7 Mar 2013
"To eat you better. EDIBLE EATERS ”proposes, by the hand of the artist Rosalía Banet, a reflection on what we eat, how, why and for what we do. The diseases associated with obesity are many, and the exposure aims to invite awareness about the importance of nutrition. According to the author, the title ‘edible Eaters’ in English, ‘edible dining rooms’ in Spanish, wants to represent the idea that “we devour ourselves”. This was explained during the presentation of the exhibition that took place at the Palace del Embarcadero, and in which it was accompanied by Mónica Álvarez Careaga, promoter in Cantabria of the Women's Women's Festival; and Enrique Sánchez, representative of DKV Seguros, sponsor of the sample.
The exhibition will be open until Sunday, April 7 at the following schedule: Tuesday to Friday, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sundays from 11:30 to 13:30. This is the first sample that hosts in 2013 the exhibition hall of the Palace of the Dispose, which will remain occupied with different proposals until the end of the year.
Rosalía Banet, through a naif aesthetic with their siameas sweets takes us to a cannibal world where the characters eat viscera, they become tortillas of power, beat fame, take tablespoons of social consciousness, drink urin or prepare recipes of success, beauty and beauty and youth. That aesthetic, somewhat childish, is very didactic to explain to our patients and make them aware of how important nutrition is.
