The port of Santander moves more than 109,000 TM in the first days of September-Press NOTE (09/10/2012)

The port of Santander has moved in the first week of September more than 109,000 tm of goods transported in the 31 ships that have operated in the Santander port facilities. The larger cargo arrived in Santander from Port Elizbeth in Australia at the Crown Voyager and were 32,124 TM of manganese. The scrap metal has been one of the most frequent charges these days with more than 13,100 TM. Other charges have been wire, paper, ligosulfite, wind equipment, and fertilizer. As for vehicle traffic, they have had a slight rebound with respect to the previous week with a total of 5,950 units. The ports of origin and destination of the ships that have arrived in Santander have been Kotma and Rauma in Finland; Szczecin in Poland; Gebze in Türkiye; Barking, Teesport, West Thurock, Coleraine, New Castle, Southampton and Liverpool in Great Britain; Campana in Argentina; Cork in Ireland; Hamburg and Emdem in Germany; Port Elizabeth in Australia; Sundsvall in Sweden; Chicago in the United States; Brindisi, Barletta and Taranto in Italy; Gabs in Tunisia; Port Klang in Malaysia; Zeebruge in Belgium, and Moerdijk in Holland. Forecasts for next week: in the next seven days the port of Santander is expected to arrive 27 ships. Among them will be Deutschland, a tourist ship that restarts the cruise season in Santander. As for the goods, in the next week it will be operated with vehicles, scrap, fertilizer, paper and wind equipment, among others. The countries of origin and destination of the ships will be the United States, Germany, Great Britain, Tunisia, Denmark, Belgium, Holland, Italy, Great Britain, South American, Australia, Barbuda, Sweden, and France.
