Convened the XV edition of the Ibero-American Course of Technology, Operations and Environmental Management in Ports-Press NOTE (02/11/2015)

The deadline for submitting applications has been opened to participate in the XV edition of the Ibero -American Course of Technology, Operations and Environmental Management in Ports, which jointly organize Ports of the State and the Inter -American Ports Commission (CIP) of the Organization of the States American (OAS) with the collaboration of the Port Authority of Santander.
This year 20 places are offered, as in previous editions, and the admission period will remain open until March 11. The course will be held in Santander between May 18 and June 12, and as usual, it will have two specialties that are taught in parallel: port operations and environmental management. In the first one, a set of knowledge in the field of port exploitation, especially techniques, procedures and operational of the main typologies of specialized terminals and the logistics functions linked to them is addressed. In environmental management, the concepts, methods, regulations and instruments, knowledge and experiences in this area referring to the port and the port operation are provided.
The course will be directed by Ignacio Arrondo Perals, director of services and competitiveness of state ports; Íñigo Losada Rodríguez, professor of the Department of Sciences and Techniques of the Environmental Water of the University of Cantabria; and Cristina López Arias, director of the port of Santander. In addition, throughout the four weeks in which the meeting takes place, around 70 teachers will participate, experts in the different matters addressed.
The formative program is equipped with a total of 225 hours (9 ECTS credits) and is part of the academic programming of Cantabria International Campus of the UC and the UIMP.
