The mayor of Santander, Íñigo de la Serna, and the president of the Port Authority, José Joaquín Martínez Sieso, accompanied by responsible for the builders, members of the Municipal Corporation and some neighbors, toured the works of the Paseo Marítimo de Marqués de la Hermida , whose conclusion is scheduled for next January. This is the 4th phase of the work of the surroundings of Marqués de la Hermida, which are executed to 40 percent. The walk will have a total extension of 18,000 square meters, and will involve a new area of free spaces that, said the mayor, "will bring the city more to the Santander Bay." The walk, together with the bike lane that is being carried out in this area in parallel and that will connect the Botín Center with the Marga, is part of the important reform of the Santander Maritime Front. José Joaquín Martínez Sieso highlighted the APS commitment in the development of all the actions that are being developed in the maritime front, from the Marga to the dangers, both with its own works and the rehabilitation of the Gamazo's dike or the esplanade of San Martín , and others in collaboration with other institutions. For the president of the port he indicated that this action is the one that makes him the most illusion "because he wins a magnificent space for all the residents of Castilla-Hermida and for all Santander." The port of Santander has contributed 30,000 square meters of land to carry out the walk and parking.
