The president and director of the Port Authority of Santander, José Joaquín Martínez Sieso and Cristina López, respectively, visited the Barreda Solvay factory.
During the visit they were accompanied by the director of the factory, Jorge Oliveira; The Chief of Logistics of the Torrelavega factory, José María Merino, and for the Head of the Legal Affairs Unit, Marcos Carrera.
Those responsible for the APS toured the main facilities that this multinational has in the town of Barreda, whose products are largely exported through the port of Santander.
The Torrelavega Solvay factory is over 100 years old, in 2008 he celebrated his centenary, and is the oldest and oldest workplace of the Solvay Group in Spain.
It produces base chemistry for other industries, especially sodium carbonate and its derivatives, of which Solvay is the first producer in the world.
