The port rewards the innovative ideas of its staff-Press NOTE (03/18/2014)

The president and director of the port of Santander, José Joaquín Martínez Sieso and Cristina López Arias, respectively, delivered the diplomas of the Institution's innovative ideas contest. This call, which aims to generate a channel of participation of all port staff in innovation strategies and policies, this year focused on the activity carried out by the Port Police. A jury composed of the President and the Director of the Port, as well as by José María López, Head of the Division of Service Provision, and Ramón González, of the Company Committee, together with, Modesto Piñeiro, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Cantabria that I act as representative of the Port Community of Santander, and Pedro Lomónaco of the UC, were responsible for assessing each of the initiatives that were presented. The winners in this first call were Jesús Bringas, José María Sarabia and Francisco Sancibrián, who obtained the first prize; Félix Galnares the second and third was exequo for Carmelo Llanes and Félix Galnares. José Joaquín Martínez Sieso, who highlighted the "importance of innovation in its broader concept, not only as new services or products, but also, he said, as new ways of doing things." For the president of the PHC, these types of initiatives mean "a leap forward, which results in the improvement of the different services of the port."
