More than 4,000 people have visited the exhibition ‘Immersion to Machichaco’ in El Palacete del Embarcadero-Press NOTE (12/20/2013)

19 Dec 2013
More than 4,000 people have visited ‘Machichaco immersion’, a sample installed in the Palace of the Dispose since last November 6. This exhibition concludes on December 29, and during Christmas will open every day from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 20:00, except the afternoon of the 24th and 25 that will remain closed all day. The exhibition is based on an inverted chronology in which it is receded to the dates of the tragedy, and it includes data, stories and images, some completely unpublished, the result of the research of historian Carlos Monar. As a central axis, several models made by Pedro Blanco are shown, with the exterior and interior models of the steam, and a diorama in which the state of the ship can be contemplated after the first explosion and before the second. In this recreation, the visitor can move to the Santander docks of 1893 and immerse themselves in its waters to see the remains of Cape Machichaco. The last guided tour will be held next Thursday 26 at 7:00 p.m.
