The port of Santander has moved 471,550 tons of goods and 28,784 vehicles in September-Press NOTE (10/15/2013)

During the month of September, a total of 471,550 tons of goods were moved in the port of Santander, 15.5% more than the same month of 2012. 28,784 vehicles were also manipulated, 34.5% more than in September 2012 In this month the traffic of all goods increased, especially liquid bulk, which did it by 60%, in the face of this, the supplies (water, ice and oil products) descended with 3,708 tons, 30.2% less that in September 2012.
The accumulated in the first nine months of the year meant a decrease of 3.9% in the movement of merchandise with respect to the same period of the previous year, a percentage significantly better to -6.3% of the accumulated of August. Until September, a total of 3,539,572 tons have been counted, compared to 3,684,400 of 2012.
In vehicle traffic, the accumulated in the first nine months of the year reached 220,505 units, which represents an increase of 15.4% over the same months of 2012.
As regards the passengers, in last September 27,226 people arrived in Santander, compared to 18,639 of the same month of 2012, 46% more. The accumulated of the three quarters is located at 175,175 passengers, 8.7% more than in the same period of last year.
