The Maritime Station of the Puerto de Santander has been the scene today of a bomb threat simulation that began after receiving a telephone call in the Civil Guard in which the placement of an explosive package in the Port Terminal From that moment on, the established protocol was launched and from the Civil Guard Services Operational Central of Santander and the Government and Local Civil Protection. Once the authenticity of the notice was valued and the personnel of the State Security Forces and Bodies were carried out in the place, to the establishment by the Local Police of a security perimeter of 300 meters and to the recognition both of both The restricted area as an open to the public of the Maritime Station by the Gedex and the Tedax, which had the collaboration of dogs trained in the detection of explosives. Likewise, the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard carried out an inspection of the water sheet close to the dock and evicted the vessels that were in the vicinity, establishing a safety cord to prevent the approach of all types of ships. After locating and deactivating the simulated explosive package, a new final review of the environment and the conclusion of the exercise were proceeded. Then an evaluation meeting of the results took place, all in accordance with the regulations established in the Code of Protection of Ships and Port Facilities (PBIP), which establishes the obligation to carry out drills annually in the different facilities that the port possesses In the subsequent analysis of the drill, in addition to the State Security Forces and Bodies, the Local Police, the Port Police of the PHC and Civil Protection also participated representatives of the Maritime Captaincy of Santander, of the Naval Command, Maritime Rescue, of the Tax Agency (Customs), of External Health, of 112, Medical Assistance Service Rapid Medical and the Santander Fire Department.
