The Faro Art Center of Cabo Mayor will host from April 11 to June 30, a photographic exhibition and a documentary about the trade of lighthouses, under the name: "Luz de Mar", the exhibition proposes a photographic tour of some of the most important Spanish lighthouses. The iconography of the lighthouses, the graphic itinerary by some of the most representative of the national geography and the memory of those who inhabited them constitute the artistic proposal of the Art Center.
The exhibition consists of twenty large format photographs by Luis Vázquez and includes aerial images, sunsets and landscapes and a tour of lighthouses such as those of La Mola, Cullera, Lekeitio, Peñíscola, El Fangar, Matalascañas, Torre Hercules, among others, and various panoramas of lighthouses and their surroundings.
Next to this photographic exhibition will take place the screening of a 72-minute documentary feature film that was selected for the Goya Awards in 2012, directed by Luis Vázquez "Curro" and that tells the story of the last fareros.
