El Palacete del Embarcadero hosts an exhibition about its cultural history
Santander 22-12-15. With more than 300 exhibitions and activities and an influx of 50,000 annual visitors since 1985, the Palace of the Embarcadero has become not only the most representative image of the port of Santander, its logo, but also in one of the essential exhibition halls in The artistic circles of the city. Thus, when 30 years of its implementation are completed as a cultural scenario, the Port Authority has wanted to celebrate this anniversary and will offer, starting tomorrow Wednesday and until January 10, a sample that visually travels the exhibitions made so far . Graphic documents, catalogs or publications will serve to review the transcendent cultural activity that has passed through the port.
With a very eclectic program, the palace has hosted during these last three decades from seminars, scenic representations or literary activities to exhibitions of very diverse kinds: historical, scientific, presentation of projects and artistic, being in this last field where the more relevant. Thus, they have gone through the port installation such important creators in national contemporary art such as Navarro Baldeweg, Juan Uslé, Charris, Clavé, Sicily, Broto, Pérez Villalta, Victoria Civera, Xesús Vázquez, Ciuco Gutiérrez, Eduardo Chillida, Eva Love, Juan Muñoz, Gruber or Irazu pello. As for the international sphere, artists such as Mario Merz, George Herold, Andy Warhol, George Rousse, Jiri Dokoupil, Sean Scully, Ashley Bickerton, Robert Capa, Sigmar Polke, Bernard Plossu, Jasper Johns or Joseph Beuys stand out.
In total more than 300 exhibitions and activities, either of their own production or in collaboration with other institutions, which have aroused the interest of more than 50,000 people a year.

The Palace del Embarcadero was the first of the relationship of border buildings at the Earth-Mar border in which, after its rehabilitation or reorganization, the Port Authority of Santander began to express its citizen will and its cultural commitment, and where it continues to do it today In greater intensity if possible. This building, which is located in one of the most representative areas of Santander, is located on a platform that advances on the bay. Its construction and commissioning occurred in the early thirties of the last century and it was in 1985 when an important reform was made in order to dedicate it to the Exhibition and Multipurpose Room.
The exhibition opens tomorrow Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and can be visited from Monday to Sunday until January 10 between 11:30 and 2:00 p.m. and between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. It will remain closed on December 24 and 31 in the afternoon and on December 25 and January 1 throughout the day.
