The president of the Port Authority of Santander (APS), Francisco Martín, announced today that the APS will lend part of its Mini Print International Cantabria collection in October to the Marie Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin (Poland), as it did last year with the Cervantes Institute in Bordeaux. The objective is, according to Martín, "to disseminate the cultural heritage of the APS and to demonstrate its commitment to art", taking advantage of the fact that the University has built a new art center "which will be inaugurated precisely with these APS funds". The president of the APS made this announcement during a visit to the exhibition of the V edition of Mini Print International Cantabria that opens from this afternoon to the public in the Art Center Faro de Cabo Mayor and in which he has been accompanied by the directors of SM Pro Art Circle, Andrea Juan and Gabriel Penedo Diego. In this V edition of Mini Print 600 works of different international artists are participating. Once the contest and the exhibition are over, the awarded works will become part of the Heritage of the Cabo Mayor Lighthouse Art Center together with the originals that, once again, the artists prefer to donate to the Heritage of the Port Authority of Santander. The exhibition can be visited between September 8 to December 31, 2022. Opening hours: tuesday: 11.00 - 14.00 h Wednesday to Saturday: 11.00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m. / 6.00 p.m. - 9.00 p.m. Sunday: 11.00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m. Monday closed *International Mini Print Cantabria In 2018 the Port Authority of Santander, responsible for the Cabo Mayor Lighthouse Art Center, at the proposal of SM Pro Art, jointly launched the first edition of the Mini Print Biennial under the postulate "The Sea and the Lighthouses", within the framework of Impact 10 - Encounter, International Multidisciplinary Conference on Graphics. The MiniPrint Biennial is open to all engraving disciplines, admitting also digital printed and monotype works, being the general theme The Sea and the Lighthouses, without implying that the work must be figurative, admitting all types of aesthetic language. The excellence of the works presented and the reception of the public led to transform it into an annual event. The second, third, fourth and fifth editions - in spite of all the inconveniences created by the pandemic in the last two - have seen a constant growth in the number of artists and works presented.
