Felix de la Concha is known by the Santander public for his Cantabrian roots and for his exhibitions, such as the one he carried out in 1995 at the Museum of Fine Arts with the title Summer in Santander. This early experience of contact with the pictorial motif in the open air has been fundamental in the development of his painting. His projects have taken him all over the world and the Centro de Arte Faro Cabo Mayor now welcomes his return to Santander, where he presents his work under the provocative title of Maldito Realismo, questioning the relevance of a painting sometimes confusingly defined as "realistic".
Maldito Realismo collects series of works made in several trips as odysseys. Unlike the sporadic traveler, De la Concha does not seek the "picturesque" of each place, but the inspiration of the neighborhood and the environment where he lives. Like a particular return to Ithaca, a lighthouse diary will connect these colorful journeys with his experience in Santander.
The Faro Cabo Mayor Art Center of the Port Authority of Santander (APS) continues to bring the work of artists contemporary to the generation of Sergio Sanz, as it did before with Eduardo Sanz and Isabel Villar, creators of the exceptional Sanz-Villar Collection.
