The APS hires the "UTE Silo Automóviles Puerto de Santander" to draft the project and build a vehicle storage silo in Raos Santander 11-09-20. Following the signing of the contract with APS, the UTE Silo Automóviles Puerto de Santander formed by API Movilidad S.A.; Industrias Metálicas ANRO, S.L. and Arruti Santander S.A, has already started the drafting of the packaging project of the plot 8.2.3. PDI (pre-entrega center) of automobiles. It is a vertical silo for vehicle storage in the Central Sporigón de Raos with which the Port Authority intends to respond to the problems of the car terminal, which is currently close to reaching its maximum capacity limit and without another viable alternative of expansion due to the APS's commitment not to fill in the Bay. This solution, which ensures the consolidation of strategic traffic for the growth of the port, proposes the construction of an area of about 70,000 m2 with a first forging plant, maintaining the possibility of expanding the silo with three more floors in the future, depending on the flexibility required by the evolution of car and general merchandise traffic in semi-trailers. The contract amounts to 15,960,083.64 euros (plus VAT) and has an execution period of 21 months corresponding to the drafting of the project and the execution of the work. *Car traffic in the Port of Santander. The puerto de Santander car terminal has been growing sustainably over the past 20 years to reach nearly 7.5 million vehicles transited by Cantabrian infrastructure. A reality that together with the work of the Port Community and the recognition of the Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers (ANFAC), which for the fourth consecutive year places Santander as the port best valued by vehicle manufacturers, make this dock consolidated as a reference for the traffic of new vehicles on the Spanish Atlantic facade. Currently, the overall offer of the car terminal can be summarized in: • 1 km of beist line divided into three docks with three ro ro ramps, two of them high capacity. The Raos 8 pier, dedicated to transoceanic vessels, with capacity to accommodate up to three car-carriers and Raos 7, specialized in short sea shipping. • More than 600,000 m2 dedicated to the transit and storage of cars • Two POI facilities (pre-delivery centers) • Specialized railway terminal with 4 tracks with capacity for trains of more than 600 m. • High quality handling and storage conditions: Surveillance systems with megapixel and anti-theft technology, environmental control. • ANFAC certification for new vehicle traffic.
