The port of Santander renews some of its machinery and its fleet of vehicles The Port Authority today received a new platform truck for the realization of maintenance work in height. In addition, it has awarded six new electric vans that will serve to modernize the fleet of vehicles of the APS and adapt it to the environmental commitments acquired by the Port. Santander 18/06/2020. The port of Santander will have, from today, a new platform truck that will serve to carry out the high-altitude work of the port maintenance service. The vehicle which, after tendering, was awarded to Palfinger, has intended an investment of 52,500 euros (plus VAT) and will serve to replace an earlier one, acquired in 2003, which no longer met the necessary technical requirements. On the other hand, and within the environmental commitments made by the Port Authority of Santander, it is planned to modernize the fleet of vehicles of the port replacing the vans purchased in 2003 and part of those of 2006, with six new electric vehicles that will contribute to reduce environmental and noise pollution in the port. The vans have been awarded to the Cantabrian company Vidal de la Peña Automóviles and represent an investment of 137,925.66 euros, being planned for delivery on nearby dates.
