Palacete del Embarcadero opens its exhibition season with DOBLE-T Santander, January 23, 2020. The Palacete del Embarcadero begins its 2020 exhibition program with Doble-T. Open your eyes and see a single image of the Cantabrian artists Juan López and Luis López Lejardi.
The exhibition, which opens this Friday, January 24 at 7:30 p.m., is organized by the Santander Port Authority and will remain open until March 8. It is a dialogue between a selection of works by the two artists, which oozes aesthetic resistance against the dominant logic and in which the materials take on special relevance and prominence. In Doble-T, Juan López perverts the established conventions regarding language, which extends to architectural language.
For his part, Luis López Lejardi uses sculpture for the disarticulation of objects, which are poetically transformed into new artifacts opening the possibility to other meanings and inviting the viewer to observe reality from a different prism. In this way, the Palacete del Embarcadero begins a program that throughout 2020 will present the works of local artists of consolidated international projection such as Juan López himself or Javier Arce, as well as new collaborations with the PhotoEspaña festival, the Menéndez Pelayo International University and the Lafuente File, which will present a sample dedicated to "La Movida".
In addition, the program will collect a bibliographic exhibition of the Gerardo Diego Foundation and the commemoration of the V Centenario of the first round the world of Magallanes and Elcano, completing with new samples that will be confirmed in the coming weeks. Exhibitions can be visited from Tuesday to Friday from 17:00 to 20:30 hours, Saturdays from 11:30 to 14:30 and 17:00 to 20:30 hours, and Sundays from 11:30 to 14:30 hours. Admission to the center is free of charge.
